Suwong pork spare ribs


  • 1.4 kg (3 lb.)  pork short ribs
  • Sufficient amount of water
  • 2  large onions, diced
  • 15 ml (1 tbsp.) dried thyme
  • 1 pouch SUWONG spare ribs sauce mix
  • 250 ml (1 cup) water
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) unsalted peanuts, chopped (optional)


  1. Place meat in a large saucepan and cover with water.
  2. Add onions and thyme.
  3. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 hours.
  4. In the meantime, in a small saucepan, mix contents of the packet of SUWONG spare ribs sauce mix with water.
  5. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Set aside.
  6. Preheat oven to 180oC (350oF).
  7. Drain meat and place in an oven-proof dish. Pour sauce mix over meat.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes.
  9. Divide the cooked ribs among the plates and top with chopped peanuts.
