Teriyaki beef with snow peas

Teriyaki beef with snow peas


  • 225 g (1/2 lb.) sirloin steak or top round steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 pouch SUWONG Teriyaki stir fry mix
  • 125 ml (1/2 cup) orange juice
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) vegetable oil
  • 1 red onion, minced
  • 227 g (8 oz.) white mushrooms, halved
  • ½ red pepper, cut into strips
  • 500 ml (2 cups) snow peas, cut into strips diagonally
  • 2 green onions, cut into pieces diagonally
  • 10 ml (2 tsp.) toasted sesame seeds
  • 1 orange, sectioned (optional)


  1. In a bowl, combine beef and garlic, set aside.
  2. Dissolve SUWONG Teriyaki stir fry mix in orange juice and set aside.
  3. In a wok or large skillet, heat half the oil over high heat and brown meat for 1‑2 minutes. Keep warm.
  4. Heat remaining oil and add onion, mushrooms and red pepper. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring regularly, until vegetables are tender.
  5. Add snow peas and continue cooking for 1 minute.
  6. Add sauce mix and cook, stirring regularly, until thickened.
  7. Add meat and orange sections, and heat through. Serve over basmati rice (cooked according to package instructions) and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Note: To section an orange, peel with a knife, then run knife along the white membranes to release the orange segments.
