SUWONG Chow Mein

SUWONG Chow Mein


  • 1 packet SUWONG chow mein sauce mix
  • 375 ml (1½ cups) cold water
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp.) vegetable oil
  • 340 g (3/4 lb.) fresh chicken or pork, cut into strips
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced diagonally
  • 2 carrots, julienned
  • 1/2 green pepper, cut into strips
  • 1 red pepper, cut into strips
  • 454 g (1 lb.) bean sprouts


  1. In a large skillet, heat half the oil over high heat.
  2. Sear the meat and then cook through. Remove from pan and keep warm.
  3. Add remaining oil to skillet and cook onion, celery, carrots and peppers, approximately 3 minutes.
  4. In the meantime, dilute contents of the packet of Suwong Chow Mein sauce mix in water and pour over vegetables.
  5. Add meat and bean sprouts.
  6. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, and simmer at least 3-4 minutes.


Recipe Tips

Serve over fried noodles with cashews and chopped chives. For added variety, serve with Suwong fried rice or spare ribs.
